A wall hanging version of "Crashing Coarse" an interactive installation at The Mattress Factory Museum. This project began as an improvisational building exercise and evolved into a series of wall hanging kinetic/light sculptures.
A light source revolves around the perimeter of a circular canvas. Inside the perimeter is a textural surface that blocks and passes the revolving light. This process creates the effect of spinning shadows on the surface of the sculpture.
The viewer has control over speed of the revolutions as well as a 3 setting brightness control on the light source.
This piece is self contained and mounted on a wall, with a singular power plug exiting on the bottom of the sculpture.
