This kinetic sculpture consists of a structure to hold a rectangular piece of heavy plastic on it's too short end, with the rest hanging freely . Within the structure is a reciprocating motor that drives this hanging piece of plastic back and forth. When a speed is reached that matches a frequency of the plastic, an oscillating waveform is created along with a rhythmic and tonal sound. With a room full of these sculptures, and a program designed to sync their motors; a chorus of materials creating sound and movement surrounds the viewer. These motors can be programmed to create rhythms that subdivide the sculptures as different instruments. Because the plastic is free hanging, if a force of air is introduced to the space intermittently; the waveforms will be disrupted and then slowly regain synchronization. This allows someone to visualize the disruption.
