Being given the opportunity to design the lighting for The Mattress Factory: Urban Garden Party was a big opportunity and responsibility. A party six months in the making, the planned lighting designer dropped the job a month in advance. This left an opening for Spectacle to step in. Working with a shortened time frame and no equipment budget, many different resources and connections were utilized to still achieve a truly stunning atmosphere. The theme of the 2017 party was "1977" a 40th year celebration. This lent itself to some fun design choices, pulling inspiration from CBGB's for the basement 'punk rock karaoke' and Studio 54 for the VIP lounge. A night of extravagance and time traveling was achieved.
