In the gallery, there will be 3D printed sculptures hanging from the ceiling with rope, arranged as if they are each a person in a room at a party. These sculptures on their rope will be spinning via a small DC motor and propeller. When spinning, the profile of each sculpture is blurred into a new form. The sculptures are designed through a procedural process that creates abstract 3D shapes. When spun, new shapes emerge that encourage the brain to see things resembling a face, shoulder, etc. Changing speed of rotation lifts and lowers the sculptures randomly throughout the room, at times synchronizing speed and height to resemble the collective consciousness of a crowd.
